Now that it’s back to school time and the weather is slowly starting to get cooler, I’m sure you’re ready for a wardrobe refresh so I am going to show you my favorite top 5 fall trends and how to look amazing in them in your own way. I have compiled my favorite trends for Fall ’16, as seen on the runways at Fashion Week and documented on Vogue and show you some of my favorite (mostly) affordable pieces you can buy that look awesome and are right on trend.
1. Velvet
You don’t have to go head to toe velvet like the runway looks, but just incorporating one piece will really elevate your look. Velvet looks expensive and its super comfortable so why not enjoy this trend? Ralph Lauren, Prabal Gurung, and Derek Lam were just some runway shows with the must-have fabric. My favorite part is the velvet in bold colors.

My Way
Forever21 Body Suit / Forever 21 Jumpsuit /Red Free People Dress
2. Menswear
Menswear is a fun trend to pull off because it entails pants and it’s easy to pull off. You can even take something from your boyfriend (or dad’s closet) if you so wish. Though, I like some of these really modern takes on menswear that are more fitted and flattering for a woman.

My Way
ASOS Double Breasted Coat / Forever21 Plaid Jumper / Nordstrom Olivia Palermo Suspenders
3. Biker Leather
As if a leather jacket shouldn’t already be a staple in your closet, this trend just enforces it even more. These super bad ass, biker chic looks are so fun to pull off and exude so much confidence. Tell me when you wear leather, you don’t automatically feel so much more powerful. Try this trend if only for your own boost of confidence.

My Way
Urban Outfitters White Leather Jacket / ASOS Leather Jacket with Fur / Bloomingdale’s Patch Jacket
4. Slipdress
This is my favorite trend of the season. I need to get my hands on a slip dress asap. I have seen so many fashionistas at Fashion Week this fall wearing their slip dress layered over a tee and I need it get in on that. They are not only flattering and super sexy, but comfortable and you don’t even have to change your outfit when you get up. Just kidding.

My Way
Zara Black Slip Dress / Red Free People Slip Dress / Forever21 Slip Dress
5. High Gloss
I love the throwback of this glossy, vinyl-looking material. It can look cheap if you do it wrong, but so high end if you do it correctly. Just one piece in a glossy leather is enough to rock this fun trend.
Runway
My Way
H&M Skirt / Net-A-Porter Pants / Forever21 Boots
Are you going to go out and buy any pieces to fit these top 5 fall trends? Or maybe you already have some pieces? It’s good to know my menswear-inspired blazer and velvet choker are still good.
